Mark Williams, JD, Kay Hyde Patton, JD, will present on Planning for Clients with Capacity Issues for the November, 19, 2024 EEPC Double Session.

Registration begins at 4 pm and the first presentation will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. This presentation will be followed up a networking happy hour and the second presentation will begin at 6 pm. Dinner will be served with the second presentation.

Mark M. Williams (J.D., Notre Dame Law School, 1981, B.A. University of Portland, magna cum laude) is an attorney in Junction City, Oregon with Jordan &Williams, and a fifth generation Oregonian. Mark focuses his practice in estate planning, probate, elder law (medical and financial issues facing the aging and incapacitated), guardianship/conservatorship and legal ethics. He is past chair of the Oregon State Bar Elder law Section, past president of the Oregon Law Institute, and former adjunct professor at Concordia University and University of Oregon School of Law. He has addressed estate planning issues at a number of national and local forums including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Annual Symposium, American Society on Aging; Joint Conference on Law and Aging; the Oregon Law Institute; and Oregon State Bar.

Kay Hyde Patton, JD has 20+ years' experience as an attorney. Kay's areas of expertise include estate planning, estate administration, elder law, and business law. Kay is highly involved in her field and community. She is former chair of the Oregon State Bar Elder Law Executive Committee, and actively coordinates with the committee CLE (continuing legal education) hours to educate Oregon attorneys. She has been an active member of the Willamalane Park Foundation, a nonprofit that supports Willamalane Park and Recreation District.

Audrey Ward is a National Certified Guardian (NCG) and owner/operator of Avanti (Eldercare Resources). Her varied career has included consumer advocacy, union organizing in hospital and long-term care settings, policy and international affairs with the Speaker of the Guam Legislature, and a short stint as a financial advisor. Her team is rooted in client-centered practices, focusing on supported decision making and self-determination for the people they serve. Located in Eugene, Avanti provides private professional fiduciary and care management services throughout Oregon.
